These spring scenes were taken in Hatcher Pass in 2012. The scenery is brown but in another month everything will be a bright green. The flowing water scenes are the Little Susitna River. It is easy to spend a whole day in the pass.
I shot these photos with my Nikon D7000 and Nikon DX 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6 lens. An inexpensive lens that produces sharp images. A good walk around lens. I used ISO 400, but could have been using ISO 100 since my shutter speeds were around 1/500 with f/11 apertures. I experienced with shutter speeds while taken images of the running water. At 1/8 second the camera captures soft flowing water. Personally, I prefer the crisp image of the river water taken at 1/3000 of a exposure.
