Russian Jack Springs Park in Anchorage, Alaska, has numerous types of landscapes that look totally different from other portions of the park. There is an area with stunted trees that looks like swamp country in the spring. Other portions of the estate have dry soils with large trees. The spring and creek have their own ecosystem.
Most of these images were taken without a tripod. I used my Nikon D7000 with my 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6 lens. It is a consumer lens but I really like it. I was shooting JPEGs in the early part of 2012. Later I started using both RAW and JPEGs files. I used Elements 9 to transfer my images from my camera to my computer. The software lets you improve and sharpens images, but it is hard to enhance JPEGs since data is baked into the image by the in-camera processing.
