The 2016 color run in Anchorage was held under bright skies. The color run bills itself as the largest single event series in the world. The run is sponsored by a for-profit company and does not support any non-profit organizations in Anchorage. It appears all money travels south. Many local runners do not participate in the event since it does not provide benefits to Alaskans.
I shot these images with my Nikon D600 and Nikon 70-200mm f/4 lens on a monopod. It was somewhat cloudy so there were no harsh shadows on people’s faces. Most all images were photographed using f/4 to keep a narrow depth of field to emphasize people’s facial features and reduce the prominence of backgrounds. Exposures were between 1/320 and 1/640.
I will remove any photo upon request at email@example.com.
