Since 1935, hundreds of people each year head downtown to enjoy the first weekend of the Fur Rendezvous in Anchorage, Alaska. Days are getting a little longer and Fur Rondy is the first celebration of the year with numerous outdoor activities. The festival has dog sledding, outhouse races, snow sculptures, running with Reindeer, snowshoe softball, hockey tournaments and blanket tosses. There are fur auctions, photo contests, fireworks, skating and talent competitions - plus plenty of food. The Fur Rondy gets people ready for spring.
I used my Nikon 70-200mm f/4 lens, Nikon D810 and monopod to take these images. I will remove any photo upon request by contacting me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
