Alaska PrideFest is a week-long celebration held each year in June in Anchorage, Alaska by the LGBT community. Around 10,000 people attended PrideFest events that included 45 sponsors, 125 vendors and 44 parade entries. Everyone was enjoying themselves and seemed to be smiling.

I shot these images with my Nikon D600 and Nikon 70-200mm f/4 lens. I used a monopod to secure sharp images. It was overcast so the soft light was ideal for photographing people. No harsh shadows. I always focus on people’s eyes and used f/4 for all my images to keep the background bokeh out of focus. Most of my exposures were at 1/640 at ISO 200.
