These February 2016 images were taken of people watching the parade during the first weekend of Fur Rendezvous in Anchorage, Alaska. The parade is not a big event, but kids enjoy it. I photographed very few parade participants as I prefer to take pictures of individuals in the viewing crowd. Body language or other characteristics determine if I take an image of a person. If a person gives me the “I do not want my picture taken” I do not take an image. People that do not mind being photographed usually have a smile on their face. I have included images of people in furs to show what Alaskan’s prefer to wear in the winter.
I shot these images using my Nikon 70-200mm f/4 zoom lens with a monopod. I forgot by Hoodman loupe so I could not see a glare -free view of the LCD screen. A mistake I will not make again. I will remove any photo upon request by contacting me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
