These are random photos I took during the 2012 Alaska Run for Women. Runners collect donations for breast cancer research and mammograms for low-income women. Several hundred thousand was raised through the event. The running event was started in 1993. Close to 7,000 women participated.
I used my Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8 zoom lens. I used a monopod with my Nikon D7000. Most of the photos were shot at f/2.8 to keep depth of field shallow. I wanted a small focus plane to emphasize people’s faces, especially the eyes. It was a high contrast day and images required that I tone down the highlights and increase shadows in Lightroom. I will remove any photograph upon request by contacting me email@example.com.
