These images were taken during the 2013 Anchorage, Alaska Color Run. Around 5,000 runners and walkers participated. The weather was warm and sunny. The bright light produced harsh facial shadows. Flat lighting produces the best portraits.
My Nikon D7000 hit the pavement when a pit bull mix attacked my leashed dogs and I. The lens and camera required major repairs. Instead of repairs, I purchased a Nikon D600 as I wanted the benefits of the larger FX sensor. The large sensor produces superior images. I used my Nikon 70-200mm f/4 lens attached to a monopod to take these images. After runners started to make it back to the starting line I left because I did not want the neon paint dust splattered on my equipment. The images are JPEGs, which sometimes reveals flesh tones that are pinkish. I will remove any photograph upon request by contacting me at email@example.com.
