These images were taken at the 2014 Anchorage Color Run. It was a bright sunny day. Approximately 5,000 people participated. The early sun cast a beautiful golden color on people’s faces. In some images the colors were too bold and fake looking and needed to be desaturated in Lightroom. A lot of local runners do not participate in the color run because the money raised goes to an outside for-profit company. Only a small portion of the money raised goes to a local non-profit. The last two years I have not photographed people looking down at there smart phones. But I guess I probably will need to start capturing people using their electronic devises as it is becoming a standard activity.
It was a bright sunny day so I used ISO 100. Most of my images were shot at 1/800 at f/4. My Nikon 70-200mm f/4 zoom lens allows me to photograph individuals and groups of people. I left before people started splashing each other with colored neon powder. I was very carful not to get colored powder on my camera equipment. I will remove any images upon request email@example.com.
