These images of the 2014 Iditarod Sled Dog Race restart were taken on Long Lake, which is 3 to 4 miles down tail from Willow, Alaska. It was bright and sunny and a little too warm for the sled dogs. People were cooking up a storm and drinking beer. For some reason there were a lot of hula-hoops. These are typical Alaskans enjoying the outdoors. Dog mushing is a wonderful sport. Musher take great care of their dogs. Dog teams and snowmachines share the same recreations trails.
I was with a group of photographers that were trying out Canon lens supplied by Stewart’s Photo Shop in Anchorage. I buy all my camera equipment at Stewart’s since it a local owned store. I use Nikon equipment but many people prefer Canons. I used my monopod with my Nikon 600 and Nikon 70-200mm f/4 lens. I will remove any photo of people upon request by contacting me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
