These photos were taken during the June 28, 2014, Mud Run for Recovery. People were having fun, especially the kids. The race supports Anchorage Community Mental Health Services that promotes recovery and wellness. It took a lot of work to install the obstacle course. The event was on the same day as the color run and not a lot of people attended the Mud Run, which provides funding to a local health organization. The color run is a for-profit business that gives very little if any money to a local non-profit serving Alaskans.
These are Nikon D600 images taken with a monopod and my Nikon 70-200mm f/4 lens. I used ISO 100 at f/4 with shutter speeds were around 1/800. I shot RAW which provides plenty of image data, but everyone faces had to much red in them. It took a lot of Lightroom time to neutralize facial tones. I will remove any photo upon request at firstname.lastname@example.org.
