I took theses images around the Captain Cook Hotel during President Obama’s visit to Anchorage, Alaska in August 2015. People were waiting to see the President. There were police dogs, Secret Service agents, Anchorage police officers and a fleet of black armored cars. One tourist lady that was frumpily dressed was standing beside me and I was surprised when her secret service communication devise started squawking. There were plenty of guard dogs and their handlers around the Captain Cook. Streets were blocked off with with cement barriers and large municipality trucks.

I was a bright and contrasty day for shooting. I used my Nikon D600 and Nikon 70-200mm f/4 lens to photograph people from a distance. Everyone except one grumpy older guy with an anti-Obama t-shirt seemed to be happily waiting to see the President. Alaskans were behaving themselves. I will remove any image upon request by contacting me at bartz@englishoephotography.com.
