These photos were taken in Seward Alaska in Resurrection Bay in September 2014. People were snagging salmon with weighted three pronged hooks that are legal at the outfall culvert in Seward Lagoon. Both young and old were snagging fish. Other fishermen were using lures to catch salmon. Fish were jumping everywhere. My friend Waska and I were fishing from his Hewes 220. We took home 30 salmon. Image Seward Fish-24 shows a snagging hook embedded in a Seagull, very is disappointing to see.
I used my Nikon 70-200mm f/4 lens with a monopod to take these photographs. I try to keep discreet when photographing people, but did not have to be inconspicuous this time since people were totally involved catching fish. I will remove any photograph upon request by contacting me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
